Passengers are survivors you pick up to travel with your means of transport.
In The Final Station, the Conductor doubles as the leader of this entire band, meaning you are responsible for keeping their health and hunger meters up using medicine and food respectively. In return, they offer various rewards upon arriving at a safe station.
In The Only Traitor DLC, Peter Gleen can optionally pick up companions to craft items such as ammo and medkits, to heal him without use of medkits between destinations and as conversation partners during the ride. Each passenger has differing skill stats for each of these, although only Crafting and Medic are of in-game use, as Sociality is more of a vague indicator for the in-depth lore and informativeness of the conversations. Since Peter drives a sports car rather than a freight train, he can only carry one passenger at a time, who may be switched out for a different passenger at the following stops. Bear in mind that once a passenger has been either replaced or left behind, he can't be obtained again.
The DLC passenger stats work as followed:
Crafting:
- Very Low Skill: x1 Medkit require Rags x11 & Pills x10, x1 Pistol Ammo requires Gunpowder x7 & Screws x7
- Low Skill: x1 Medkit require Rags x10 & Pills x9, x1 Pistol Ammo requires Gunpowder x6 & Screws x6
- Below Average Skill: x1 Medkit requires Rags x10 & Pills x8, x1 Pistol Ammo requires Gunpowder x5 & Screws x5
- Very High Skill: x1 Medkit requires Rags x6 & Pills x5, x1 Pistol Ammo requires Gunpowder x3 Screws x3

Trivia[ | ]
- The Hunter is unique in that his Health and Hunger bar start out near full and never deplete. Even in case of a train malfunction, the Suffocation effect will not drain his health.
- Although the two unnamed soldiers at the beginning of Act 2, known in-game only as "Classified", can technically be considered passengers, they cannot be given Food or Medkits and offer no reward for survival, as they are scripted to die on-board shortly after boarding.
- In their brief appearance, the soldiers use the same image as Robert Ripper.
- DLC recruitment stats aren't fully accurate. Below Average Crafting can be considered the second best skill tier, right below Very High, as there are no characters with the Average or High stat in Crafting. Likewise, Medic stats are never Very High (presumably 100 HP, which would be a full heal), while Below Average and Average Medic skills overlap in effectiveness.
